Courage has been defined as the ability to carry out a
fear-defying task. My definition of
courage is the ability to do something that most others fear of even
thinking. Such people are military
recruits, firefighters, or even ordinary citizens who step up to be a
hero. Courage can be born, created, or
developed through the process of parenting or natural behavior. The most common fear for an average person is
death. We may think that death is
unavoidable and we all prepare for the moment but those who face death in the
eye are never ready to pass over.
Referring to the television series Courage the Cowardly Dog, Courage is
fearful of almost everything that ever happens to him but it is his determination
and love that brings him to defeat the obstacles in his way. Heroes have the courage and bravery to do the
things they everyone is afraid to do.
Although they are not different from anyone one, it is their mindset
that drives them to have the courage that they have today. From parents to military men, they all have
the courage to push on farther and protect the things they love. That is true courage.
Sura,
ReplyDeleteCourage can be defined in many ways but I belive that your definition is one more towards the truth. I completley agree on everything that you have to say about courage. I loved how you used Courage the Cowardly Dog as an example. I used to watch that show all the time. I believe that courage is not just about over coming the big things its being able to over come any obsticle that stands in your way with out giving up. That to me is Courage.
Sura, courage is a broad subject to begin with, and the way each of us explains it makes the subject itself even broader. When it comes to how you said “We may think that death is unavoidable and we all prepare for the moment but those who face death in the eye are never ready to pass over.” I would have to disagree with you their because some people are in so much pain before they go, they just want to go willingly and to not put up a fight and try to avoid it. I mean yes some people would rather have a second chance at life but it would take a lot of courage to live through that. So when it comes down to it, later in life when the “right” time comes we need to ask ourselves, “are we ready to go?”
